BG1 actions - possible spoilers

Do actions taken in BG1 carry over into BG2?
The reason I ask is that I started a new BG1 CN game and Kagain, Edwin and myself are being bad and I was worried if Minsc and Jaheira are toasted in BG1 do they still show up in BG2 and if so are they super pissed at you?
Also if a certain famous character is killed for his kickass items what are the repercusions if any in BG2.

No. Actions taken in Baldur's Gate 1 do not carry over to Baldur's Gate 2. Rest assured, nobody will be mad at you.

drizzt is kinda mad at you if u killed him in the first one and u have his weapons! (Im not sure if hes mad at u if u dont actually have his weapons on u at the time when u speak 2 him, but he might be.
