do you see what i've done there?
i wan't to learn arcane magic then - i want to solo a sorcerer and summon armies and call down hellfire - i want to do those things but trying doing anything similar last time around slowed my PC to an unplayable mess i don't even know what i've got now but i'm happy to upgrade it whatever it is so, what do i need do you reckon? |

The $64,000 question is, are you fully patched? That might be screwing up your game right there. Or it might be all of the things you're summoning. The game slows down for me if multiple spellcasters are firing off animation-heavy spells. Don't know what else to say. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Also, what do you have now? And what OS do you run? And whats your budget.
Also, try changing the 3d acceleration option in your config, depending on your system you can see massive performance hit from turning that on.

turn off advanced pathfinding...
delete contents of cache\data turn off static animation during combat defrag, defrag, defrag!!! turn off some of the high resource intensive options in bg config(this is also where you turn off advanced pathfinding and animations) patch with official patch and baldurdash patches...

thanks for the suggestions all - i had expected people to get a little thrill out of the prospect of more power and spending someone elses money but i'll get my current tutu game out of the way revert back to SoA and give all that a go it was mainly the dragons and late game stuff that slowed to a crawl which stole a lot from what should have been highlights if you see what i mean |

Yea, try turning the option for 3D acceleration off. When I had it on, the cursor (wolf type hand) on the choosing screens kept flickering. It also slowed the game down a bit, even though I got a quite new pc.
