I want to upgrade my Thieves' Hood, but Cespenar says I'll need a Ring of Invisibility to do it. The problem is I don't have one because I imported my game from SoA so I didn't get one when I started ToB now. So I was wondering if there is another Ring of Inv. in ToB somewhere. I don't recall ever finding one, but then I never use it by the time I reach the expansion.

There's a Ring of Improved Invisibility on Fll'Yissetat, the Dragon in the cave between Draconis and Abazigal that 'might' do the trick, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I'm not aware of others myself. Sorry.

Otherwise the CLUA code is Ring05.

Well, I can easily find a list of CLUAConsole cheats, but I'm not really into it. I guess I'll just have to forget about upgrading it.

It's easy to justify... You're saying that nowhere can you find or commission a ring with such a simple enchantment? It's like not having the Bag of Holding until halfway through the game. There's gotta be one somewhere.

Well, a bag of holding does open into an extra-dimensional space that's something like a Klein bottle. That's sort of complicated. On the other hand, everyone and their brother in this game can turn invisible, so there's no excuse for the programmers giving you only one chance at the Ring of Invisibility.

Sort of complicated, sure, but no more than Bracers of AC 3 or a scroll of Symbol: Stun.

I'm going to "geek out" here for a moment, in a mathematical sense. A Klein bottle is a three-dimensional object that has only one surface; thus, it wouldn't really be considered an extradimensional space. A tesseract, on the other hand, does contain more volume than its three-dimensional measurements would otherwise allow.

Well, FlamingFistEnforcer, by that point in the game you would have normally found one which you would either still have or have sold to some store. Thus, you are justifed in using CLUA to put one in your inventory; the rationalization is "I already found it" or "I went back to the store and bought it".

I always thought the bag of holding as a portal of sorts. The bag is there but the contents are elsewhere. It opens in some kind of very small pocket plane.

But of the ring. If you don't want to cheat it in, and are a mage (or have one in your party) you could simulate making one yourself. The internet told me that the creation of a ring of invisibility costs 20,000 gp and 800 XP and takes 20 days. The 20,000 includes the materials you need. You must also be able to cast invisibility. Remove the money and XP, give yourself the ring and it all should balance out. If your apprentices can make stuff surely you can too.
