Since he's a great backstabber, I'm considering this option. I might be better off with him dualweilding though.

Any opinions?

I always think a ranger using a single weapon is a huge waste. Just my opinion though

The point would have been to give a backstabbing tank the best (damage-wise) backstabbing weapon in the game.

despite the fact that all I play is NeverWinter Nights at the moment, would it be possible to snag the statistics for the Staff Of The Ram off of you? I just wanted to see if I could duplicate it. As well, if Valygar is a ranger and does have dual-wield capabilities, how is it that the Staff Of The Ram makes for a better backstabbing weapon? I am just curious in all of this as most of the posts I have seen revolving around Valygar normally have him with a longsword/dagger combination.

The second one is an upgraded version which can be done by the "smith" in ToB.

thanks for the info!
I was thinking about adding this to a package in NWN.
doesn't look all that powerful, but in the Original Campaign it'd be perfect for a few of the character ideas I had, including my mage/thief.
