I think you will find a pack mule in Dungeon Siege not Baldur's Gate

Osprey is one of the illusionary NPC's that Obe conjures up to help the PC train in group-combat in Candlekeep.

There is a trick that allows you to add all of the ill. NPC's after you leave candlekeep.

The point is that Osprey (Cleric/mage) has so lousy STATs that she's only useful for carrying stuff around (STR14?).

Osprey: Multiclassed Cleric/Mage.

Strength: 16 (quite good)
Dexterity: 9 (pitiful)
Constitution: 13 (okay)
Intelligence: 15 (barely decent for a Mage)
Wisdom: 10 (on a CLERIC? Ridiculous)
Charisma: 6 (are you KIDDING?)

Hi, Elric. Thanks for taking notice of my comments about Osprey, it's a bit of a running joke for me and Six. Even though her stats are awful, she still makes a contribution. Try getting the pack mule (in Dungeon Siege) to do Heal Wounds, Animate Dead, and Identify, not to mention Invisibility. I just love this game so much, I keep trying out new, crazy ideas all the time.

You know, Midget Gems, Priests with low Wisdom have a chance to get Spell Failure simply because they're not really in touch with their God--the table in the back of the manual states how a low Wisdom can cause spontaneous spell failure, but I was never sure if BioWare actually wrote that rule into the game or not. Osprey, with her 10 WIS, should fumble her Priest spells about 15% of the time, according to the table. Do your own observations agree with this?

Six, as far as I can remember she has never failed to cast any of her cleric spells. I did give her a tome, so there should be a 1 in 10 chance to fail. Same goes for Quayle, though it's a while since I used him. Maybe they didn't implement this feature after all. I'll keep my eye on this in future.

Re: "Pack mule"

Doesnt Edwin occasionally mumble something about needing a new pack mule.. when someone dies in the group he's in?

Um, Edwin might, but I know Montaron insults you for being so foolish as to let a party member die. "Fool! Now we'll need ANOTHER mule!" I've actually never used Edwin, even in my Evil game--I prefer Xzar.
