For those of you who are fans of Terry Brooks, what opinion do you have of the latest Shannara book? I've just started reading it(page 100 so far) and must admit that it does seem to be an improvement on his earlier novels. Would those of you who have read it recommend this book?

Well I don't think there is anything new showing through in his formula, but if you read and like his other stuff it's a good bet that (like me) you will stay faithful to the series. I think his best book was way back #2 Elfstones

I read the Shannara books as they were published and loved them except for the last which I considered a let down. So when Voyage came out, I resisted, thinking it was another *^((&^ prequel/sequel. But, Of course, I was wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed the book--definitely an improvement over even the original trilogy!

SPOILER
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ I thouroughly enjoyed the novel, and I love his post-Apocalyptic rebuilt world, but try as I might I still don't like mixing working technology(sci-fi) in my fantasy, unless it's a tinker gnome, but that's a completely diferent story. Overall, I really enjoyed the book, as I've been a fan since I was 12 and read Elfstones
