Hi all. I'm looking to replace a few files from my game CDs.
I emailed support@bioware a month ago, but recieved no response.

Careful about this here, the mods aren't to fond of this sort of thing. Have you tried to clean the disc? Also try alcohol 120% (program).

Thanks Sir Degrader but discs are scratched on printed side and alcohol just choked on the files.

There are these lush liquids you can wipe on to repair CD's. I've never tried it myself, but they're usually fairly cheap and just brush on. They certainly claim success.

If it's just one or two random files it's choking on I don't think it would be a problem for me to supply them - any more though and it's probably best just to buy it again, you'll find it for a few bucks on budget.

The lush liquids work surpisingly well, and for 20 bucks you can get this thing that looks like a discman that will remove stratches and whatnot. I have it, and have fixed brown scratches on my copy of fight night that several said would be impossible to fix.

Hey all, good news! I tried the disc in a different optical drive and was able to read the files! Maybe a slightly different angle of the read head?
Anyway, thanks for all the suggestions.
Maybe something about this can be modified into a sticky? I can't be the only one who closed the drive tray with the disc only part way seated.

Shove the disc in a freezer overnight. That should sort it out.

You also might want to make a copy of the game now you got it working, just to make sure this problem doesn't re occur.
