Really great film. I mean really great. It is also French (by the same guy who directed Amelie) but it is so worth it. The premise is a surreal world where children are being stolen for strange experiments by a mad scientist of sort. The world itself is made up of sideshow oddities and things occur in a nonrandom Rube Goldberg sort of fashion. The characters are great and the protagonists are a large strong man who has a child like sweetness and a sweet girl child with a an adult street smart to her. The story had so many little things and it reminded me of many other things including Wizard of Oz, and Baldur's Gate 2. Definitely a must rent and I may even buy this one.
