Does getting struck by lightning do anything?

No, and don't you believe anyone who tells you otherwise. Illumina would never want to see you hurt in any way.

Er, wait, you mean like weather effects? Of course not. If it was a trap/wand/spell/creature effect/cutscene, yes. But if it scares you then feel free to just turn weather effects off during the storm and bang some tinfoil instead. It's the next best thing. (and improves game performance!)

Yes, turning it off improves game speed, but the effects are cool, so they deserve to stay .

Getting hit by lightning from a spell such as Call Lightning (level 3 priest spell) or by a wand will inflict damage.

Actually, what are all the weather effects? The only things I've seen (and I always play with it on) are little falling blue dots and little falling white dots. I didn't even know there was lightning! Any other things? Blizzards?

I think the falling white dots are the blizzards.

I wonder if the weather affects your HiS? If it's rainy out, your chance of hiding might increase since it'll be harder to hear your footsteps over the sound of the rain, plus visibility is lower. I doubt it was implemented into the game, or else you wouldn't be able to turn the weather effects off, but it would be a good idea imo.

CLUAConsole:SetWeather(?). Replace ? with 0 for clear, 1 for rain and 2 for snow. Thats all the weather effects there are I think, aside from lightning and such... I dont know of commands for them.

I know HiS modifiers were added for shadows (under trees etc) broad daylight, night, etc, so I would think weather would affect it as well (being something you can turn off because of performance issues on lower end machines when the game was released).
