SWAMP help, please

I am trying to find and kill the big frog to retrieve my kidnapped LORD from CROC. Where is the frog?!?!?!? I have been all over the swamp, no luck

Head north, and cross over the bridge. The frog is located in a large lake to the east.

I just killed Croak and got my person back. There was too much hack and slash to and from the frog.

in my first 2 games, i HAD to kill him. he's such an ornery, xenophobic old cuss and a raving liar, to boot.

::whispers:: plus he has some nice loot in that trunk where he keeps your kidnapped teammate.

but my current group allowed him to live, because i was curious to see this big frog and what he had to offer me.

it all depends on how you're playing out your game. iirc, the frog gives decent exp for that level. [img]smile.gif[/img] and exp is good!

You won't find Brekek (the big toad) until one of your party members has been kidnapped. If you go to his pond before then, no froggie! I found it helpful to set a portal just outside the pond and one portal at Crock's shop. You can zip over to the pond, quickly finish off the beast, and zip right back to Crock to cash in on some nice exp and pick up your lost party member. Then, if you want to level up a little, you can just teleport back to the pond and let the slaying begin again. I did this a few times until my 2 bishops were at level 11 - that way they could buy some nice spells from Crock.

Lawdog -- that only works if you are using an unpatched game. I believe it was either the first or second patch that did away with the respawning Brekek.

Levelling with Brekek is also dangerous because you're gaining a LOT of experience and not much in the way of skill training. So monsters will start coming at you at higher levels, but you don't have the higher skills to compliment them. Then again, if you do have good skills already, go knock yerself out!

I would guess that a part of the story was left out because of the early release. My guess is that it's his silence you're buying, much like the silence you buy from He Li. He hates the T'Rang, but figures he can get a favor done out of the deal.

If that's not the case, he's just a butthead... how's that for a reason? [img]smile.gif[/img]
