*Light* *Sword*

I'm playing my third party and just got my first light sword. This weapon is amazing! I won't ever be able to play another party without one.

I have never got it in any of my games. I got light shield for the first time in my current game though.

LUCKY GUY!!!! I've never gotten one (Sword or shield)...and I'm so looking forward to finding one. Thought I'm only on my second time through.

I've found the *Light* *Sword* from the ghost pirates and from a chest on the isle of Bayjin, but never in the same game.

Honestly, I don't like using it on most of my characters, because a rapier-type weapon just isn't appropriate for a samurai or a Fighter wearing full plate and such.

Never gotten the *light* *sword* myself, but did find a *light* *shield* once in Bayjin - in one of the huts I think.

Fans of Wiz7 will remember the light sword/shield from the Higardi stronghold on Guardia. Seeing as their ship was shot down over Bayjin, it seems that's the place to find these items. You need some luck, though.

Course, you can save to a post nessie pre-pirate position, and spend a few hours reloading till you get one...

I tried the save/load thing... for both Excalibur (5 times) and the * Light Sword * (5 times)... got neither after 5 tries, I just pressed on... however, the wife got Excalibur first try. Urgh!

Once took me over 2 hours to get the light sword, more re-loads than I can count, was considering 'cheating' one in, but didn't know how.

In general, Excal is easier, I think.

I haved played the game through maybe ten times and had numerous reloads (before entering the Baijin Shallows, resettin the "dice") to fight Nessie and raid the chest. Out of maybe 30 reloads, got Excaliber maybe twice and Light Sabre never. Later on in Rapax Castle I get Excal maybe half the time. By that time I don't really need it, using Ivory Blade, Fang, etc., that allow dual weapons. I did get Light Shield this last time around and it really is great for my bard. I loved the Light Sabre in Wiz 7 but it was almost TOO good. As a side note, I don't like any of the axes in this game so never really gave them a try in later levels. Too bad there wasn't a Light Labrys (double axe) or such to make honing the skill worth it.

I tried and tried to get the lightsword to reload on the pirates in multiple games. I finally gave up when I did a 4-man party, and got it loaded in the bayjin hut. In that particular game, I also got a light shield, which is awesome. My sam, who always took the brunt of the hits, went crazy with that shield and made the game very easy. In my current game, I got very very lucky with only 2 reloads on the pirates and none anywhere else. I have 2 light swords (pirate and chest), a light shield (Jeanette), and sold Excal, which also came with that cool ring of regeneration and divinemail.
