Your game. You paid your money. You play it how you want to.
That said, 25 in all stats would be about as exciting as paint drying or grass growing. Where it the challenge? How much fun is there to be had in soloing through all battles and encounters chunking everything? Short term, maybe. My view is that there's more value in having to try different strategies to beat a tough encounter, and more satisfaction when you do get past a group of ogres with your 2nd level party when you're all beat up and your thief gets a good backstab than what you're doing. Also, what about replayability - you can replay with diff chars, classes, stats. In your game there is one char who's a demi-god in that world and that's it. You appear to miss the point of ROLE PLAYING, unless you're a weedy (young) yr old who gets his/her jollies out of believing that you could chunk all comers, which is a little sad, and you should get out more. I tried to do the game with a hacked character and it quickly loses its fun so i'd try with a 'normal' character

Don't worry about these guys, like was said already, it's your game. All must admit that there is little satisfaction gained by hitting the "reroll stats" button 689 times instead of just changing the value to 18.
On the other hand, like these friendly folks above have so eloquently pointed out; to most (which probably would include you) the game quickly becomes ho-hum without a challenge. If a pair of kobolds can kick your butt, by all means you need a little extra help. Your character is "special", so a small hack isn't really too inapproriate, especially if you were trying to recreate a pen & paper personality you already had in mind. One of my favorite hacks is to allow for higher stacking of arrows, so that everyone's inventory isn't full when you do come across a worthy treasure. You'll find that if you give yourself too much, you won't even bother to check a corpse, because you already have the best equipment, and more gold than you can spend. ------------------ and the flaming sword turning every way, guards the tree of life. |
