I will only keep this sticky-noted for as long as it takes to get a clear view on how we want to run things on what I shall entitle :"Break-off threads".
We have seen a few times recently a battle between two opposing forces that started a new thread aside from either side's home-base thread. Example. Keldorn's Order opened up a field for me and Neb to fight them. After the battle...Keldorn's order returned to their home base.
At first, I was wondering if this was against Ziroc's intention of having one thread per clan...but what do you do when two clans want to clash???
The answer...in my opinion...the break-off battle grounds that we have seen commenced.
If the clan leaders can promise to keep ensuing battles of such nature under control of one thread (up to 150 posts)...and then return to their home threads and just overall keep everything runnig smoothly...then I will endorse this new idea.
If it becomes a mad-house...Cloudy and I reserve the right to cancel this agreement as we see fit.

Now...let's hear what you have to say about it...

As leader of "Brotherhood of the Swords", I promise to keep our fights on one topic, and then return to our base.

Larry, I think this is a very good idea "Battle Threads?". I mean realisticly, what kind of battle can one have in a guildhouse. The clan leaders could agree on an appropriate location, and rules of engagement could be posted in the first slot, all combatants that wish to enter the frey could just jump to that temp thread. When the battle is over and a decisive victor pronounced, the thread could be just left to die, as it gets worked down the board. I don't think deleteing the thread immediately would be good as it would take away the winning sides ability to enjoy their victory and allow others to see it as well.

I think this sounds pretty fair and should work out nicely.

Sounds like an excellent idea Larry, also, during such battles, the moderators(Whether involved or not.) should maybe try to act as a sort of referees, stopping any use of uber-munchkinny invincible powers, yes, I know I've used these myself, but it would still be nice to have some referees of some kind.

I like all of your ideas! Thanks for being so responsive. I shall continue looking for more opinions and also to make sure that Clan leaders are in this with me. I cannot control the board 24/7. Neither can Cloudy. We will need group support on action items such as this.

Larry, I would happily do whatever I can to help, I am on quite often and during non-busy weekends I am on more or less 24/7

I'm not sure I understand completely. Do you want ALL the battles of a clan in a single thread? that may make coordination for allied clans a bit difficult. If you propose making only one thread per battle, I'm all with you of course.

But as the rangers are a little low on members (though they are high-quality members each and every one) we choose to work together with other good-aligned clans (Keldorn's order and the Brotherhoodof the Sword for example) I cannot promise we will not aid both our allies if two battles rage at the same time, as that would disturb the relations between the third clan.

Please clarify this a bit, as I'm kinda Confuzzled.

As for the idea of mods being umpire, I think you should use common sense a bit. I'm working on a set of rules/guidelines for future battles, and in my opinion you know best what your character can and can't do. What I'm trying to do now is to find a way to stop players being afraid to die, as that's usually what triggers the uberpowers. Long way to go...

Legolas...thank you for your question. I will try to be more specific. Let's use examples to illustrate it, since my learning capability is in visual as well as yours, apparently.

Let's say that Clan Larry has a home base...called Larry's home. Let's say that down the road...Clan Legolas is eating all my apples in my orchard. Clan Legolas has a home base called Legolas' home. I want to go to war with Clan Legolas...but the rules prevent me from spamming on his home. Legolas wants to kill Larry's followers so that he can have all the apples. He cannot come to my house raising his sword, due to it being my sacreed home. A battle-ground thread is made. We fight, and Legolas wins. The battle ground thread is stopped...no longer being needed, and is forgotten. Perhaps closed. Everybody goes back home to their original home threads.
Now...Clan Memnoch has invaded with his army of alien cats. Clan Legolas decides to protect the world from hairball infestation. A new battle gound thread is created for this battle. That thread for Memnoch and Legolas will just be for that fight, and just for them. After Memnoch wins...and he will...everybody goes back home and the battle-ground thread is forgotten.

Questions????
