What sort of fun cooking experiments have people here tried in the past? And how did they go? I haven't made many cooking experiments, but one day I was bored and tried to make something that should have ended up being somewhat like a nice and tasty peach drink. But what it DID end up like was something that was unpleasantly much like Peach Ice Tea. Blech, this is how I did it:
Step 1: Fill a bottle with water. Freeze it. Thaw it. Step 2: Cut some peaches into bits, small-medium ones, and put them in the bottle. Freeze it all. Thaw it all. Step 3: Freeze it all again, thaw it all again. Step 4: At this point I had something that was unpleasantly much like that abomination Ice Tea, or at least tasted a lot like it, and with less additives. |

Heh heh, when trying to make tasty fruit drinks I would recommend the use of a blender my good man
And yeah, I've tried a few experiments myself, some turned out ok (like pan-fried beef strips with tomato and worchestershire (God I can never remember how to spell that) sauce marinade) and some have turned out badly (Like my disgustingly delectable peanut butter and marmite weetbix).

Look Here
(EDIT) With the exception of The Perfect Grilled Cheese, Chicken Cioppino and the Hummingbird food, they are all originals or variations of recipes I thought needed help lol. Eating good food being my favorite "hobby" lol, I have been pretty productive with my personal concoctions. The only thing I really remember messing up was mint tea made from fresh mint leaves. ( I was 9 or 10 ) I dried them on a cookie sheet on the roof of the house and then tried to steep tea with them...tasted like hot water LOL. [ 08-27-2002, 03:59 PM: Message edited by: Moni ] |

Well once i decided to give my lil sis a surprise and bake a cake for her at night, dont ask it was horrible, first i drop things at myself, then i get my hands dirty, finally when i'm all set the recipe book vanishes, so i decide to conduct an experiment, the cake was quite ok if it wouldnt have been over-baked, ugly looking and too sweet, i'm not making anything for her again
