I once did a post like this I think.
So far, the books I've read with Halfling characters (and halfling-like): Drizzt Novels Dennis L. McKiernan's Silver Call and Iron Tower Lord of the Rings RA Salvatore's Crimson Shadow books Anyone want to point me to some books?
