Ali and Forman. Also Mike Tyson. I mean he should have been one of the greatest boxers of all times but unforunately he isn't due to circumstances.

I picked Ali but Joe Louis sure is right there. My favorite one to watch, though, was Joe Frazier in his constant moving and dunking.

I'm partial to the Joe Boxers. They're pretty comfortable, and have some funny designs...! Oh, wait, you mean... the... athletes. (hangs head in shame).
and Cassius Clay. |

Tysons's is far too aged IMO, and his fight against Holyfield and Williams was a disgrace IMO. In the eighties though, he was amazing. Joe Louis, man, I want to kick myself for forgetting about him. A class act, in every sense of the word.

Degrader - this really ought to be best Heavyweight of all time, or get some of the lighter guys in there. For what's there, I'd say Ali followed by Louis. And I would love to see either one of them in there prime fight a prime Marciano to see if he could take the punishment they would dish out long enough to land some shots.
Tyson was only amazing because of who he fought. In the march to unifying the heavyweight title he defeated: Trevor Berbick, James 'Bonecrusher' Smith, Pinklon Thomas, then finally got the IBF from Tony Tucker. They were all pretty mediocre and afraid. Even Spinks was terrified. First time he fought someone not afraid he lost, and badly. Holyfield wasn't afraid and destroyed him. |

Marathon good point, this is REALLY skewed. I don't have Hopkins, Sugar Ray, Duran, or hell, anyone before the 30's.
I suppose however, that in a fight, the heavyweights would destroy the lighter fighters. If I made a pound for pound fighter poll, then the lighter ones would DEFINENTLY be on that list. |
