I started over and I am playing TOB even though I didn't beat the game or get very far. Anyways I played as a Elven Kensai Proficent with 2 weapon style and MAN HE IS GOOD!!!!!! 19 DEX 19 STR (Due to Belt of GIant or orgee strength) 17 CON and 10 INT 15 CHR and well heh 3 wisdom. HE IS GREAAAAAAAAT Man he is good he rarely misses and I think he has 7 and a half attack per round I maybe wrong but hey HE is DA BOMB! I regret that I never played as a warrior before I always played as the weak Melee classes such as Thief or sorceror. Now my Elven Kansai is my Main TANK! Even though he wears no armor he still kicks butt with boots of haste he is deadly! Do you encontor Drizzit in TOB if you do let me know cause I wanna fight him one on one. I also heard of a Kensai Mage can you tell me about this I would greatly appreciate it. Also is there any good WarCraft 3 Forums like this one THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the club Kensai/Mages are even more disgusting because you combine all that offensive power with full mage spellcasting capabilities, and no real restrictions (since Kensais can't wear armor anyway). It really brings out the strengths in both classes. You have to dual though, no multiclass, which means you can only be human. With ToB, a good level to dual would be around 12. You get tons of offensive bonuses and can still reach max (or close to it) mage lvl.
Some spells I recommend: Vampiric Touch - mediocre spell suddenly becomes amazing in the hands of a Kensai. Great damage for it's lvl, heals you, and most importantly with your high THAC0 you don't have to worry about not connecting. My personal favorite. Improved Haste - doubles your attacks, so 4 att/rd become 8. Stoneskin - dealing out all that damage while being unhittable. Need I say more? Sunfire - Aka the Exploding Kensai. Fire this off when surrounded by a group of enemies. Specialize in katanas so you can dual wield C. Fury and Dakkon's Zerth Blade (gives extra spell slots). Get yourself a Robe of Vecna to go with it and you'll be the envy of every hero in Faerun. [ 09-20-2002, 11:04 AM: Message edited by: Lharae ]

No offense, but do you always have to use caps?

I *love* the Kensai! I've got two games running right now, a "purebred" Kensai with optimized stats that can't Dual (18/85,18,18,6,15,6) with two other custom chars (elven mage and human bard) dragging along the occasional NPC for hahas.
The other is one I just dualed in a single-player game, Kensai 9/Mage 7 right now. Since he's hasn't got access to his Kensai THAC0 or AC boost yet, he doesn't hit too much with his +2 staff-spear, but with 140hp he's _still_ the tank (with Minsc backing him up) of the group! Hahaha.

If you have TOB installed, i'd recommend you dual class your Kensai to a mage at lvl 13. After your mage surpass this lvl, you're a wild man on loose. I've never die once when i have dual classed my Kensai/Mage at Normal difficulty.
And with more than 1000 kills at the end of the game, Minsc got about 800, if i remembered correctly.

People said they soloed the game without using the Kensai->Mage just to be different. That was how common and good they were. |

The first class I ever played was a Kensai. And even now after about 20 games, he is still the character who have gotten the most powerful, I think.
They really do rule. The bad thing, though, is that they cant wear armours and helmets. So you'll have to use rings, cloaks etc as protection. |

if you dual class (you can't without making your character human) to a mage do it at lvl 13 (at lvl 12 you get another weapon proficiency, and at 13 you get another 1/2 attack per round)
