Make sure your Armor Class is very good is probably the only other thing you can do. Stoneskins protect you from damage but not from level drains I believe.

Use the weapon "Azuredge" from Bernard in the Copper Cornet to kill them easily from a distance which prevents them getting close enough to attack. Stoneskin doesn't protect from level drain (Memmnoch's correct), otherwise you can buy scrolls of protection from undead from most temples and from Ribald which cause all undead to ignore you (although you might want to save these for future encounters....)

Humm.. You get a amulet of something quite early that are IMMUNE to level drain. And _always_ before i go and hunt for vampires i go and get the daystar in the city gates cuz it hits them really hard and have Sunray as equipped ability. With that they die immiediatly when you cast it.

Hope it helped little bit.

Yeah the Amulet of Power is very beneficial but cannot be used by warriors. Despite the fact that it only says it's not useable by fighters or thieves, rangers and paladins also cannot wear it. Many people rushed to baldurdash to get a fix for this, but I've read an interview with some bloke from Bioware and they never intended it to be useable by warriors of these types, that's why they never addressed it with a patch, so I think it's cheating a little to use an item that was never meant to be useable by paladins or rangers. Just my opinion, but it does prove really useful for mages and priests.

Yeh Daystar is a GREAT help against Vamp's..... and the amulet of Power that u get when u meet with Aran Linvail 4 the 1st time he gives u that and a ring of protection +2.. but the downside is that the Amulet of Protection is not usuable by Fighters/Paladins/Rangers etc.

U might also b able to get the Amulet from Bodhi when u side with her... i dont know... im 2 much of a goodie-goodie

Boots of Speed + Azuredge makes a great vampire killer, just in case you miss you can run away. Boots of speed are very usefull.
